last night i went to the sold out manu chao show at the congress.  i have NEVER seen a crowd SO excited to see this international superstar.  the energy in this space was utterly amazing.  i have never been a part of such an intergenerational, diverse audience before.

i am really inspired by manu chao’s global message of interconnectedness by singing in different languages (primarily spanish), by borrowing different world styles of music, by being critical of the fucked-upness of capitalism & oppression, but by ALWAYS emphasizing joy and an energy for life that is unparalleled to anything i’ve ever experienced.

this is definitely my gateway show to a more intentional effort to experience world music in its’ fullest sense.
