Jens Lekman/An Argument with Myself/Secretly Canadian/2011

Lekman’s first release in almost four years, An Argument with Myself is a fun five song EP.  In classic Jens Lekman style, the songs on this record are poppy, quirky and charmingly bizarre.  The title track is literally an exploration of Jens Lekman having an argument with himself – not metaphoric,  but a literal dialetic between one person (lyrics: “shut up!” “no you shut up!”, etc) with a bouncy melody.  And this just begins the short record.  An Argument with Myself is light, playful, and often danceable (in that indie sort of way).  Fans of Lekman’ s earlier work (especially of older tracks like “A Postcard to Nina” or “Opposite of Hallelujah”) are sure to be pleased by this EP.
